Beatles producer George Martin has died aged 90.

We read the news today, oh boy.

Iconic producer George Martin, who worked on most of the Beatles’ recordings and was one of the people referred to as the “Fifth Beatle,” died at age 90 on Tuesday, with Fab Four drummer Ringo Starr sharing the news on Twitter.

“God bless George Martin peace and love … George will be missed,” he tweeted.

“Thank you for all your love and kindness,” he continued, sharing a vintage photo of the foursome with their producer.

Starr’s fellow Beatle Paul McCartney offered his condolences as well, writing on his blog that he has “so manymany wonderful memories of this great man that will be with me forever.”

McCartney went on to call Martin “a second father” as well as the “most generous, intelligent and musical person I’ve ever had the pleasure to know.”

Sean Lennon, son of slain Beatle John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono, also shared his condolences on Instagram and posted a black and white image of a young Martin.

“R.I.P. George Martin. I’m so gutted I don’t have many words. Thinking of Judy and Giles and family. Love always, Sean,” the 40-year-old musician captioned the photo.

A spokesperson also confirmed the passing of the man behind the Beatles’ legendary sound to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The prolific English producer signed the Fab Four to a label contract in 1962, a time when most major labels had passed on the group.

“I could well understand that people had turned it down. But there was an unusual quality of sound, a certain roughness that I hadn’t encountered before. There was also the fact that more than one person was singing,” he recalled in his memoir “All You Need is Ears.”

At that point, Pete Best was still the band’s drummer. Martin would eventually suggest he be replaced by Starr, who took over percussion duties in August 1962.

Martin worked on nearly all the Beatles music, producing countless iconic tracks including “Yesterday” and “A Day in the Life.” He can also be heard playing piano on “In My Life.”

He went on to work with several other artists, producing for Cheap Trick, Kenny Rogers, and Jeff Beck, among many others. His impressive musical resume also included producing “Candle in the Wind 1997,” Elton John’s tribute to the late Princess Diana and working on 23 U.S. number one singles.

Martin’s manager said that he died peacefully at his home. He is survived by his four children.

Star and fans quickly took to social media to voice their regrets on the passing.

“The legends are really going home! Visionary producer of #TheBeatles, George Martin (1926-2016),” Lenny Kravitz tweeted, along with an old photo of Martin with the Beatles.

“Every time I record at Abbey Road I geek out and play with the mics sir George Martin used. What an ear, what a life, what a legacy,” Josh Groban tweeted.
