Meryl Streep’s actress daughter Grace Gummer is playing writer Nora Ephron in the Amazon series “The Good Girls Revolt,” one cast member tells the Daily News. Gummer, 29, has been spotted on the set of the show, which is based on Lynn Povich’s book “The Good Girls Revolt: How the Women of Newsweek Sued their Bosses and Changed the Workplace.” Amazon has “no official comment at the moment,” about the casting, but Gummer is certainly an interesting fit — Ephron, a beloved New York writer and filmmaker who died in 2012, has long been a part of Gummer’s life. In the 1986 film adaptation of Ephron’s book “Heartburn,” Streep played the Ephron role of Rachel Samstat opposite Jack Nicholson in the guise of Carl Bernstein. Streep was pregnant with Gummer while making the film and was part of Ephron’s starry inner circle. “Grace didn’t have to go far to research her role” in the Amazon series, says our source. “She’s got her mom.” Gummer, seen on Broadway in “Arcadia” and on TV in “The Newsroom” and “Extant,” celebrated Ephron alongside her sister, Mamie, and Cynthia Nixon at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards three years ago, reading from a commencement speech Ephron gave at Wellesley College in 1996.

GOODFELLA: TIME FOR FEMALE PREZ

Robert De Niro isn’t shy about supporting Hillary Clinton’s presidential run — though mostly because he likes the idea of a female presidency. “Well, for that reason, it would be important,” De Niro said. “Almost more important is that she is who she is. She’s paid her dues. She’s been through the mill.” He also said Clinton “deserves” to be the next president because she’s ready. “She’s prepared. She’ll make mistakes. Everybody does. It’s a hard job, to say the least. She’s as qualified or more qualified, than anybody else. And paid her dues. Period.”

THAT’S WHAT THEY SAID

“I do wash dishes, and I (say), ‘I bet Elton or Bruce Springsteen don’t do this,’” Rod Stewart on house chores to the UK’s “Loose Women” show

HUNNAM IS LEAVING NO BUTTS ABOUT IT

Charlie Hunnam says that his decision not to star in “Fifty Shades of Grey” had nothing to do with the film’s erotic content. “The outside perception of that was that I got really cold feet and got scared of the explicit nature of the sexuality of the piece,” he tells V Man magazine. “When I was 18 I was getting f—-d in the a–, completely naked on national TV, y’know?” argues Hunnam, referencing his role on Showtime’s “Queer as Folk.”

The “Gravity” star has recently been spotted enjoying grownup time with her new beau Bryan Randall, including a double date with Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux last weekend in Texas, according to People magazine. Here, she’s seen giving a male pal a goodbye hug after they both picked up their kids from school.

CLUBBING WITH RIRI, THE WEEKND

Love was all around at Up & Down nightclub Tuesday. Bella Hadid and The Weeknd “held hands on their way into Travis Scott’s private event,” according to an insider in the club’s lower level lounge. Fresh off his performance at the Gramercy Theatre, Scott was joined by Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Up & Down owner Richie Akiva. The whole gang later headed to 1 Oak nightclub, where they joined DJ Chase B for an impromptu performance of “Can’t Feel My Face.” “(It) had the entire room on their feet,” we’re told.

THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS OF KATY

We’ve heard her roar and now we’re seeing a lot more. “Part of Me” singer Katy Perry was hands-down the main attraction at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The sexy 30-year-old pop star dropped to her knees and went down in history on Tuesday.
