Sebastien Bellin thought about kids after Brussels bombing

After the Brussels airport bombing blasted his hips and legs, Sebastien Bellin, the Belgian basketball player, only had one thing on his mind as he fought through the excruciating pain — his daughters.

“I just didn’t want my girls to grow up without a dad,” Bellin told ABC News while holding back tears in an emotional interview from his hospital bed.

Bellin said he was shot in the hip before the deadly explosion launched him up to 65 feet into the air “like a feather pillow,” he told Le Capitale.

The former Marist College basketball player didn’t know if he was going to survive the blast until he was in the ambulance, he said.

While wounded, he was thinking whether he’d ever play tennis with his oldest daughter again.

“She’s a hell of a tennis player, and so I was like, ‘I gotta get through this you know, because she needs her coach,’” he said.

Bellin described the horrifying moments during the terrorist attack, which killed 34 people and wounded more than 200.

“I remember seeing a first explosion at the pharmacy at the airport, and I turned my head and I saw all these people running… I think I blacked out a little bit,” he told ABC News.

The athlete said his wife was headed to Brussels to be by his side at the hospital.

Sister Fanny Rachel Clain, 20, a French missionary who was on her way to Ohio, was also in the hospital, fighting for her life after the bombings at the airport.

She told ATV in a hospital interview she was keeping positive, while wrapped in bandages around her face and hands from burns she suffered.

Clain told reporters she was going to remain positive, as she was wrapped in bandages in the hospital.

“I was not going to spend my day crying,” she said.

Clain did not even realize she was burned until she saw herself in a reflection, the missionary told reporters.

She was with a group of Mormon missionaries who were also caught in the blast and receiving medical attention.

Family friends last said the group was “doing well” after getting treatment.
